Welcome FCRW Board Members for 2024
Welcome FCRW Board Members for 2024. The personnel may be about the same but there has been a shuffling of seats for the First Coast Romance Writers organization for this new year. We wanted to give a warm welcome and shout-out for our new President – Curtis Bennett.
President: Curtis Bennett

Curtis began his interest in reading as a child, thanks to his mother who read to him, and in 7th grade he was honored by his school as the recipient of the Dolfinger-McMahon Book Award. His first novel was published in 2012. Between 2011 and 2013, while attending college full-time for two of those years, he penned 16 novels of various genres, while graduating with honors from the University of North Florida. To date, he has penned 30 thirty full-length books.

Secretary: Gloria Ferguson
secretary@firstcoastromancewriters.com
I’m Gloria Ferguson, author of sweet romances and cozy mysteries, laced with heart, hope, and humor. I write lighthearted stories about relatable people, who act in extraordinary ways. Whether in contemporary or historical settings, my characters face life’s challenges to find clever and entertaining solutions. My stories always end with a happily-ever-after or a happy-for-now. I penned my first short story in third grade, followed by others about animals, music, friends, and family. Thus, my first series was born.

Director of Fundraising: Leah Miles
Director-of-Fundraising@firstcoastromancewriters.com
Leah has traveled to various places around the globe, but Georgia is her home. She grew up in Atlanta and planned to have career as either a television reporter or successful author. After getting a Bachelors in English and Communications, she went to work at CNN for more than a dozen years—sadly, she never managed to sit on the anchor desk. As for writing, she has a box of stories written years ago, and more works in progress than she cares to admit on two hard drives.
