HOW TO PLOT USING THE “SAVE THE CAT” BEAT SHEET

Blake Snyder wrote Save the Cat as a screenwriter’s handbook, sharing screenwriting secrets and describing what made some of the classic Hollywood films so successful. His Beat Sheet provides the writer with a formula for when and where to insert specific plot points. And while it was written for screenwriters, much of it can be adapted for the novelist. In this workshop, award-winning author Vic DiGenti (aka Parker Francis) helps to decipher the secrets of Snyder’s Beat Sheet, touching on some of his tips for success, and shows how he’s used parts of the Beat Sheet for his work in progress.
