Award winning poet and artist, Joan Lange (A.K.A. Merrie) is a lifelong environmentalist, peace & human rights activist and advocate for all life on Earth. She wrote her first book entitled ""Happiness"" when she was 5, has been a spokesperson for UNICEF & worked with President Carter to promote solar energy and alternative fuels. She writes to empower every being, to open eyes & open lives. As a drummer, singer, gardener, artist, photographer, archaeology & astronomy aficionado, Joan's passions & life experience have defined her poetic journey. She has sung, slung words & given talks around the planet to crowds ~ from 10 to 10,000 ~ sharing the message of universal kindness & understanding to each other, to Mother Earth. Her hope is that, through poetry & song, to be a modern-day ""Joan-ny Apple Seed"" ~ planting seeds of change one person at a time - poetry has that power. Kindness IS Cool!
