In the second half of the meeting, Laurie transitioned to discussing ‘Botho Beginnings and Fab Finales,’ focusing on crafting compelling openings and satisfying conclusions in writing. She underscored the significance of the first 10-20 words of a book in capturing reader interest and explored different ways to structure a powerful opening. Laurie advised on how to construct a meaningful and impactful ending, ensuring it ties back to the book’s opening while providing a sense of closure and emotional satisfaction. The workshop concluded with Laurie emphasized the importance of delivering on the promise made to readers in the book’s beginning and the value of maintaining the story’s tone and style throughout.
