Contest Rules
1. Fees:
$25 per entry.

Accompanying each entry:
- Fee
- Entry form
- Three copies of the book per category
A title may be entered in more than one category. (Example: THE
ROMANCE is entered into single title and historical. $50.00 fee
{$25.00 per category}, two entry forms and six copies of the book.)
Exception: No additional fee or books are required if eligible for
the First Book Category. Book must be entered in a standard category
and 'First Book' box checked on the entry form.
2. Submission:
3 copies of a published book with a copyright of 2007 for each
category. Signed copies are appreciated as they will not be
returned.
E-books are accepted in hard copy; printed. Published is any
publishing venue whether ePub, self-published, subsidy (vanity)
press, print-on-demand or small imprint publisher. Contestant must
submit the book in the format stipulated within the guidelines.
FCRW reserves the right to cancel any category not meeting the
minimum number of entries. If a category must be cancelled, the
entrant’s book will be entered into a second option. FCRW will
choose the alternate category. No books will be returned due to
insufficient entries.
3. Categories:
- Historical/Traditional Regency
- Short Contemporary (up to 70,000 words)
- Inspirational
- Paranormal/Fantasy/Sci Fi
- Single Title Contemporary / Long Contemporary (over 70,000 words)
- Erotic Romance
- Romantic Suspense
- Women’s Fiction/Chick Lit/Mainstream
- Novella (minimum 20,000 words)
- First Book (No fee or extra books required for entries that
qualify. See entry form.)
4. Deadline:
Postmarked by March 1, 2008.
5. Judging:
May 1st - First round complete
May 15th - Finalists notified
August 1st - Winners (three for each open category) notified. Names
announced in the RWR.
Final Round Judges: Booksellers!
6. Awards:
First place per category - Beacon Lapel Pin, and .gif for website.
All finalists will receive a certificate.
